DUES

2010-2011

Dues for 2010-2011 are due June 1, 2010.

National dues are $49; State dues are $8, and Branch dues are $9, for a total of $66.

Paid life members are exempt from payment of National dues but continue to pay State and Branch dues ($17). Fifty-year life members are exempt from payment of National, State, and Branch dues, although some continue to make contributions.

Student Affiliate Members pay $17 National dues, $0 State dues, and $1 Branch dues.

Dues from new member joining after March 15 cover the next fiscal year.

Oak Ridge Branch dues have been $9 per year for more than ten years.

Dues are the main source of income in our operating budget which includes the yearbook, newsletter, and meeting facilities. Members have come to expect and appreciate the level of quality we have achieved in our publications and general meeting programs.

However, we must deal with the fact that income from dues is insufficient to maintain the excellence we have achieved. Instead of increasing Branch dues, the Board is asking for voluntary contributions to the operating budget. Your generous contributions last year made it possible to fund our operating budget for the current 2009-2010 fiscal year.

When you pay dues for the coming year, you may contribute to the Educational Opportunity Fund and the Local Education Projects Fund, as well as the Branch Operating Fund. Contributions to the Educational Opportunity Fund and part of the National Dues ($46 for Regular Members and $17 for Student Affiliate Members) are tax deductible.

Contributions to the Local Education Projects Fund, the Branch Operating Fund, Local Dues and State Dues are not tax deductible. aauwoakridge@aauw-oakridge.org , for membership information.
